PROBLEM

The Air Force faces challenges in operationalizing Digital Material Management (DMM) and replacing outdated PLM processes with a streamlined digital solution. The previous reliance on obsolete methods hindered quick decision-making and resource optimization, crucial for developing, fielding, and maintaining military technology and supporting operational readiness.

SOLUTION

To address these issues, Sabel Systems implemented Siemens’ Teamcenter as the Air Force Product Lifecycle Management (AF-PLM) solution. Tailored to meet the unique requirements of the Air Force, this cloud-hosted solution offers a suite of capabilities, including requirements development, contract management, configuration control, and ongoing customer support. AF-PLM facilitates seamless data creation, migration, storage, control, and sharing across operations, modernizing, and accelerating existing processes.

RESULTS

The deployment of AF-PLM yielded transformative results, establishing foundational capabilities like Contract Data Management and Bill of Material visualization. Sabel Systems facilitated AF-PLM adoption by 24 program offices and over 1000 users, enhancing efficiency, data accuracy, and the Air Force's agility for informed decision-making and resource management.
